Her name "Mighty Mo" expresses how she feels in her heart. She is a firm believer in working hard to achieve goals.
In loving memory of her father Richard Ovalle she skates with heart because she knows that he would have been her biggest fan.

Meet: LOLA LA CHOLA
2010 Co-Captain

Lola La Chola #25 joined the Renegade Rollergirls in December 2008.  Born in Tijuana, B.C., Mexico, she made her bones on the streets of South Gate.  Although new to the sport, Lola La Chola brings unparalled heart and grittiness to the table.  Lola literally turns the rink into her barrio; with her “take no prisoners” attitude.  And the last thing any opponent wants to do is mess with her homegirls, the Renegades of So Cal!  When Lola La Chola skates, watch your back levas!  Lola has love for this shit!!

Be on the lookout for the “Drive-by”, Lola’s signature move, cheer on the Renegades of So Cal, and have a blast!

Lola La Chola’s slogan is:
“Hitting you harder than your first vato!”
(After he found out you were a tramp and doing his homeboy)

Meet: DISTURBING THE PEACE

Disturbing the Peace PC 415 became a Renegade Rollergirl in August 2008.   She was a long time derby fan but never found a team that she felt was a perfect fit.

She found the renegade league back in August and has been skating every since with no regrets.  After facing a few set backs physically and mentally she decided to go out on a limb in January of 2009 and form the New and Improved Renegade Rollergirls of So Cal.

Disturbing the Peace is ready for anything anytime which leads us to her slogan:
“Any Place Any Time Disturbing The Peace”

Meet: Angel Luv Assault

Angel Luv Assault # 42 joined the Renegade Roller Girls in April of 2009.  She was born in California, but spent most of her youth in Kansas.  Currently, she is a Social Worker in Los Angeles, but don't let her amiable nature fool you.  Although new to the sport, she has a tremendous passion for skating and a highly competitive side.  She has adapted quickly and promises to be a threat to anyone who gets in her way...

Off the rink she's sugar and spice, on the rink she's not so nice:
"THIS Angel loves to Assault."
*You're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.*

Meet: Destructo Dolly

Destructo Dolly #11 grew up in Whittier, CA. When she was 8 year old, after seeing the 1992 movie, The Cutting Edge, she was inspired to try Ice Skating. Being that she wasn’t too great at it, her dad bought her a pair of roller skates and he took her to the local skating rink and spent lots of time skating with friends.

She became a Renegade Roller Girl in January of 2009. She saw it as an outlet to get a little aggression out, do something out of her comfort level and have some fun.

Lolli has taken on the persona of Destructo Dolly, with her hard hits and brutal baseball slides, her derby name suites her sweet girl image and aggressive blocking style.

Prepare for Destructo in 3...2...1

Meet: Haulin' Ash

Picture
Haulin Ash' # 21 joined the Renegade Rollergirls of So Cal in June 2008.  Haulin Ash' joined the renegade family after first having a single practice with a team she felt was not the right team for her.  She contacted us after that practice and decided that she wanted to play for a league that skates with pure skill and no rules.  She started skating and within two weeks was on the lines of our first bout!  She took down a Captain of another team like it was nothing.  By Day Haulin Ash' is a sweet little teacher assitant for a Special Education class but by night she will come around the corner Haulin Ash' and knock you to your butt turning you into the ashes left on our rink!

Meet: JxJxJUSTICE

JxJxJustice became a Renegade Roller Girl in September of 2008.  She was born in Long Beach, California and came home to her family residence in Costa Mesa, where she has lived off and on for the past thirty years.
Her love for motorcycles was sparked by frequent family outings to the California desert to ride bikes in the dirt at age four. Her Dad, Rick, an avid motorcyclist to this day, told Jayme that when she could ride a bicycle she could ride the dirt bike on her own. She went home that weekend and rode her bike alone for the first time.
The next trip out to the desert ,Dad outfitted her and put her on a Honda 50 to check out her abilities to ride alone. Jayme fell in love with the bike and the dirt. At forty her Dad had his first heart attack, since her dad went out and bought an Indian and to him every day after that was a gift of life. This fueled Jayme more. She learned to ride the Indian and decided she wanted to get her motorcycle mechanic's degree.
In 2004,at the age of 26 , Jayme headed to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue her dream. At MMI she worked hard to learn everything she could about motorcycles.
After graduation she came back to Costa Mesa and started working immediately for Harley Davidson of Westminster. She knew that in order to be the best she needed to learn all about the bikes. Her next step was taken when she left Harley and went to work for a local custom shop. This step proved to be magic for Jayme. She worked alongside a master mechanic, who was willing to take the time and energy to feed Jayme's hunger for learning the trade.
At the 2006, Laughlin River Run, the shop showcased Jayme and encouraged her to use her people skills to highlight women as motorcycle riders and ultimately mechanics.
Currently jayme is traveling around the world on her Harley!!!

Meet: Karma Knieval

Picture
Karma Knieval joined the Renegades in June 2010 when her childhood bestie, Nurse Jack U. Up,  introduced her to the Derby. Always driven by her Heart, she decided to join to rekindle their bond. As soon as she felt the high energy and recognized the warrior essence behind the torn fishnets and victorious concrete-eating, she knew she had to get some!
At 3 years old, migrating from the Philippines, her family earned their right to be in this great country through hard work, integrity, and pride-swallowing ordeals. She stands her ground and keeps her chin up knowing she bleeds red, white and blue!
Growing up, her father was her world and so she shared his passion for combative martial arts which she continues to train in various disciplines. When her father passed away during her teens, her Mother decided to pursue a life as a nomadic treasure hunter. Turned rebellious and needing to eat, she turned to backyard fights to earn her meals. Living that gritty lifestyle only attracted more of it and she could not find meaning or peace. One day while arguing with a local crackhead who was constantly stealing her slippers from her front porch and then coming back the next day in an attempt to resell them for $5, she realized that the only wisdom gained from arguing with a crackhead was that she had to move up from arguing with crackheads. She began to take notice of these messages from somewhere beyond herself. The last straw was when her house burned down leaving her with only her ex boyfriend's boxers, long socks and the tank top she was wearing. She thought she had nothing left until she realized what was real remained. Life. Love.
She saw the Light, plays a good game in Corporate America, pays her taxes, gives to charity, volunteers her time, keeps informed, sponsors a child's education and travels the world following the paths of warriors. Love is her first priority, she seeks Truth from all forms of spirituality and snacks on peoples' inner demons.  She loves her man, adores her older sister and would die for her warrior kin. She resides in the City of Angels but will skate the distance to win bouts with the kindred spirits she has found within the Renegade Rollergirls of SoCal! Grown women who can eat some shit in life, laugh about it and then own it!

Karma Knieval comes with her rolling thunder, and a bag full of SMITE!

"I'll smite thee all the way to Valhalla! And thou shall like it!"

Meet: Kimmie Knockers

Picture
Skating has been a part of Kim's life since she was 5 years old!! She’s been skating off and on here in Orange County, CA - Until  in 2004, when she was out venturing in Knoxville, TN - She saw a posting about a Roller Derby Team: The HardKnox Rollergirls Leauge were recruiting – Her friend Cari came up with her derby name "Kimmie Knockers" when she joined the league, she skated for the Lolitas Locas team for 6 months.   Kimmie Knockers decided to move back to her hometown.

A week after she moved back, Dirty Pirate Hooker, one of the skaters from Orange County Demolition Divas recruited her when she was skating at the local rink. She skated with the Divas for 2 and a half years until the league disbanded.

Broken hearted due to this event, a couple of Divas invited Kimmie Knockers to be a Board Member and form The Renegade Roller Girls of Orange County  (which is based in Orange, CA) in August of 2007.

Fast forward 2 years - She is looking to further her skating experience, and has decided to join an up-and-coming renegade league. Finally, Kimmie Knockers joined the SoCal Renegades in September 2009 – She will be skating with us to the top - Watch out for her slogan:

"KNOCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE"

Meet: Lethal Leesha

Picture
Lethal Leesha joined the Renegade Rollergirls in June 2010.
She is a really quiet person always observing others and never being observed. She enjoys meeting new people and is hardworking, organized, and dedicated. She always sees the glass half full, is very patient, and can easily adapt to change. She can be nerdy and proper, but can also be crazy and spontaneous (hints joining roller derby).
She
was born in San Diego, Ca. along with an older sister and brother, they were Navy brats. They lived in different parts of the US, Japan, and finally Philippines where her dad retired. After highschool, she decided to move back to the states and has been living in the Long Beach, Ca for about 10 years.
She has been a
Registered Nurse for 4 years with cardiac and home care background. She decided to become a nurse because it was her passion to advocate about people's health, education about pathophysiology, and patient rights and dignity. It was a job that did not require her to sit in front of computer for 5 days a week and be bored. As a nurse, you are on your feet for 12 hours straight, always on the move, always putting out fires, always learning something new, always saving a life. It can be very stressful, hence roller derby is great way to let out steam.
She love to try new things and is not afraid of trying these new things. If an opportunity came her way, she would take it. Derby came as an opportunity and she dared not to let this one pass me by. When she is not skating or going to work, she loves to cook meals and bake sweet treats, and share them with friends and family. She also loves to eat and try new foods. So far, she has not yet met a food I did not like.  She also love to read, learn, listen to music, take pictures, look at art, swim, and travel. It helps to keep me inspired. She is currently with a great boyfriend that thinks it makes him look cool to be dating a roller drby girl. She lives with her bestfriend who does not approve of her derby venture and fears for her safety.  However her bestfriend is a fashion design student and she hopes one day to convince her to helo So Cal Renegades put together a nice boutfit.  She is currently finishing off her Bachelor's Degree in nursing and might go on to get her Masters.  She volunteered in April 2010 for people who were poor and without health insurance and helped run a small medical clinic in Ensenada, Mexico.  On a side note....she can also drive stickshift.  She really doesn't think driving a stick shift is all that interesting however she always gets wild and interesting compliments when people sit in her passenger seat.

Meet: Lil' Queen Bee

She's a girl from the OC and never thought about joining about a Roller Derby. Her life as an only child had been a great life for her. Lived in a life that she created based on her comfort level - work in a Medical Field had become her routine for a while. But when she heard about The Renegades, she wanted to step out of the box and challanged herself. She became a Renegade on January 2009 and has been coming out so far from her old life style. The best thing is that she met a great group of girls who show her support and always encourage her to do her best. Not only some derby girls, but become sisters...

Old E Glory #14 joined the Renegade Roller Girls in September 2008.  She was born and raised in Southern California. She is the oldest of five sisters. She is a student and has been employed as a Quality Assurance Specialist for the past nine years. A busy weekly schedule is what she is used to along with entertaining her 8 year old daughter. Roller derby helps her take the edge off and also gives her an opportunity to meet and be friend with some amazing people.

She is willing and excited to give it all she’s got when she enters the rink.

Meet: Sunday Smackdown

Picture
Sunday Smackdown # 420 joined the Renegade Roller Girls in June 2009.  One Sunday in June 2009 the girls were out watching the local demolition derby at the OC Fair Grounds when they heard a loud commotion behind them.  There was a crazy lady fighting against four others they were all much bigger than her!!!  The girls with there clean image by day outfits on were not sure what to do of course they didn't want this CRAZY LADY to get her butt beat it was by looks an unfair fight.  As Security ran up to the fight there was only one person left standing yup you guessed it it was the lady who took on the other four ladies!  All four of the other women suffered broken bones and black eyes and only one was able to walk to the ambulance on her own!  Amazingly, the police officers that were dispatched out just let this women leave.  So we all looked at each other and said we have to have her!  We walked up introduced ourselves and asked her what happened.  She explained that they tried to jump her and she fought back! We asked her to become a Renegade that day and she accepted!  So others beware she might look like she has nothing on you but she will give you a Smackdown Renegade style!!!!
